Your Personal Strategist

My Story

Hi friends and new visitors!~
I'm so happy you're here!
If you’ve landed on this page, it's likely because you feel stuck or overwhelmed, frustrated with work, personal relationships, retirement or you've lost touch with yourself. Welcome.
After decades of working in helping professions, I needed to help someone I’d been ignoring for far too long: me.
When I retired, I expected to embrace freedom and finally enjoy what I loved. Instead, I fell into a depressive, frozen state that I couldn’t explain. I had all the time in the world, yet joy eluded me. Slowly, I realized I’d been carrying a hidden inner agitation for decades—masked behind perfectionism, professional achievements, and people-pleasing.
When the busyness of life stopped, Mother Nature stepped in and made me confront the knots I’d been avoiding.
Even with my background in psychology, I couldn’t see what was holding me back. As the saying goes, “We can’t read the label when we’re in the jar.” I came to understand that the struggles I’d faced throughout my working years—self-sabotage, imposter syndrome, and self-doubt—stemmed from the same inner turmoil.
I’d spent years trying to willpower my way through with affirmations, visualizations, and manifesting. While those practices had their place, they became band-aids for the deeper work I was avoiding.
Eventually, I had a breakthrough: the issues I suffered from were in the part of my brain that needed reprogramming. My willpower and determination weren't the problem, nor were the external issues I was blaming. Everything changed once I shifted my perspective and worked on the parts of me that held the power.
Here’s the good news: When we identify that the root of our struggles is almost entirely within our control we're empowered to see the world from the inside out and go after what we want in life.
A Little More on What My Journey to Feeling Better Entailed:
On the outside, my life looked like a picture-perfect dream, but underneath, I was harboring buried trauma. My healing journey required me to face, accept, and process past events and patterns. I had to dive deep into the world of C-PTSD, uproot beliefs, and do some reprogramming.
Thanks to COVID, local professional therapists were as hard to find as toilet paper in March 2020. But this turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I had no choice but to take my mental health into my own hands. I embraced holistic approaches, incorporating the latest breakthroughs in bio-neuropsychology.
I leaned heavily on journaling (and even art journaling) and applied the likes of new therapies (Narrative, IFS, CBT, EFT...) by authors, influencers and professionals like Bessel Van der Kolk, Nicole Lepera, Dr. Ramani, Pete Walker, John Bradshaw, to name but a few. The bottom line? Once I started accessing the right part of my brain in concert with my mind, body, and soul the benefits were mind-blowing. I’m not talking about feeling a bit better but ‘shout it from the rooftops’ better.
The transformational growth came from moving the needle in self-worth, self-trust, and self-advocacy. How I saw the world shifted from fear-based to love-based, all because my relationship with myself changed. Since then, I've combined all of what I learned from the gurus and experts to guide others with daily practices to detangle their inner knots lol.
My friends, I can help YOU do the same!
